Child Protection & Safeguarding
It may be helpful for parents to know that the law requires all academy staff to pass on information which gives rise to a concern about a child’s welfare, including risk from non-accidental injury, neglect, emotional or sexual abuse. The staff will seek, in general, to discuss any concerns with the parent and where possible seek their consent to a referral to social services. This procedure is intended to protect children and ensure their safety at all times. Where reports are made, it is hoped that parents will appreciate that the Headteacher will always be acting in what is believed to be the child’s best interest.
