Parental Involvement
The Academy values the views of parents and carers to help improvement. We also try, where possible, to invite parents in to school on a regular basis to ensure continuity between home and school.
We also welcome parent helpers in the Academy. Specific talents and general assistance extend the opportunities provided for the children. If you can help in any way, please let Miss Garner, the class teacher or the school office know.
The parent representatives on the Governing body are:
Mrs Emma Booty
Mr Howard Elvidge
We hold fundraising events to raise money for academy equipment, educational materials and special activities. These events also provide social activities for the children.
We greatly appreciate involvement and support of the local community.
We value parental involvement in your child’s learning, please ask if you require further advice and support. We hold various information meetings, assemblies and provide individual consultation appointments to discuss your child's progress. During these consultations, your child’s individual targets for improvement will be discussed. Class teachers welcome parental consultation at other times (it is advisable to check that a particular time would be convenient by requesting an appointment at the school office).
Throughout the year, we hold various curriculum workshops where parents are invited in to see how the teaching and learning of various topics is covered in school and therefore can support their child at home. We also have open sessions so parents can see what the school is like in action on a day-to-day basis.
